How is all started
After years in the outpatient clinic and home health setting as an aide, student, and licensed physical therapist, Liza continually saw a deeper need for patient education and injury prevention. As a means of saving time and money for clients and patients, Liza has developed opportunities for classes and individual care to ensure the general population can remain proactive in their health in a way that works for their schedule and budget.
Having grown up in Loomis, Liza is familiar with the active population that makes up the Sacramento area. She knows the trails, the parks, the gyms, the rivers, the slopes, the fitness classes, and so on. Why? Because she personally uses them in her own fitness regime, training routines, and recreational activities. Liza has seen the need for basic movement assessments and injury prevention techniques in the Sacramento area for years and wants to ensure that type of service is available locally.
Julia (Liza) Berry
Physical Therapist - Founder/Owner
Liza has been a practicing physical therapist for 5 years with experience in outpatient sports clinics and outpatient home health. She received her bachelor's of science in Kinesiology from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA with a minor in Military Science. She then earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Massachussetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Worcester, MA. After 3 years in outpatient orhto, she successfully became an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). Since completing her degree and certifications, Liza has developed a passion for patient education and injury prevention as she found herself treating preventable injuries over and over again. She not only knows this frustration from the provider perspective, but also the patient perspective as she trains for and maintains various exercises routines to keep herself healthy on the slopes, court, or field as long as possible.
Liza has also been in the United States Army Reserves for 9 years and currently serves as a captain working in Civil Affairs. So far, her career has allowed her to enhance her leaderships skills, travel the world, and develop cross-cultural relationships that will hopefully last a lifetime. In regards to physical therapy, she is familiar with the work demands of specific branches/MOSs/AOCs and is working on incorporating injury prevention routines at her home unit.
Outside of work, Liza enjoys skiing, running, rock climbing, golf, tennis, soccer, traveling, cooking, singing at church, and playing the piano. These hobbies have lead to the development of great friendships, memories, and skills, but an injury can get in the way of enjoying any one of these hobbies. She understands that pain or an injury can get in the way of life, so do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
